College bound....

Last Friday, Madison & I got up at 4:30am, loaded up her car & headed to Springfield. Missouri State... here she comes!!! The drive is only 3 hours, she insisted on driving! It was so much fun for all of us to experiencing this together. Sheryl, Brinkley & I joined in the adventure... even her first parking ticket. They tell you that you only have 30 min to unload - we didn't see any Security guards or other people waiting to unload, so we ventured off to see Sullavan's dorm ( walking up 7 flights of stairs) taking our time getting back to the car. Oh well, at least it's only $23 . Sheryl was not felt left out, a ticket on her car also. Her dorm was so cute, she's on the 4th floor, even has a tree outside her window. Nice view. I do miss her. It was sad to go into her room when I got back home, so bare! I'm just happy I still talk to her daily, even if it's just a quick text! She called & asked for mail .... so I sent her a little package (maybe that means she misses home, just a tiny bit?)

Home Improvement !!!

New roof & new siding... almost all done! This is unfinished work from the May 2nd Tornado. It's been such a long process with getting this all fixed. We are lucky that our contractor insisted with our insurance that our siding is no longer available. In doing that, we were able to get all new siding. We custom ordered our shutters over a month ago, but just noticed yesterday that they were damaged... so now it's 2 weeks to wait for them to be replaced. :( In doing that we've changed our minds on the design, so hopefully the new ones will look even better. I will post the new pics when it's all done.

Happy 18th Birthday Madison !!

Miss Madison Brooke had her 18th birthday July 24th ( yes, I'm behind here) We took her to Bonefish grill, with her being a vegetarian this was a good place for her. The food was fantastic, although I had steak! I'm so very proud of her ~ only 16 days until College. I get tears just thinking about it. I am VERY excited for her, yet I know how much I'm going to miss her. Classes start Aug 25th- she's lucky Mon, Wed & Friday her classes don't start until 11am!
